Terrific!
This is a terrific way to show someone you care about them and are thinking about them.. Perfect for sons and daughters away at college, boyfriends or girlfriends and even friends you don't get to see very often. I highly recommend it! I'm buying it to send them to my girlfriend at Texas A&M Univeristy! Whoop!

The Poverty of Structuralism: Literature and Structuralist Theory (Foundations of Modern Literary Theory)
Published in Paperback by Longman Group United Kingdom (June, 1991)
Author: Leonard Jackson
Average review score:

An excellent all-levels access account of structuralism
I studies for two semesters with this professor at Middlesex Polytechnic in London, and this volume captures the essence of a portion of a dynamic lecture series on the historical backgrounds of structuralism. Jackson's training is not limited to literature, and his engineering background is evident in his structural/functional view of literary theory. This is a great springboard for investigation into the work of de Saussure, Barthes, Levi-Strauss, and Derrida, with reading lists presented at the end of each chapter to guide further inquiry. An emphasis is placed on primary theoretical texts, rather than the interpretations of later theorists.

The series is followed by a work on Marx, entitled The Dematerialization of Karl Marx, and a (yet to be published) volume on Freud, tenatively entitled The Descientification of Sigmund Freud.

Preparing for Battle

Get Ready to Fight Back!
Being Christian is not an easy life. When a child of God finally makes their confession of faith, Satans workload gets larger, but the believer is his prime target for all his powerlessness. His work consists of extinguishing the believer and all that he or she can effect for God through whatever weaknesses he can find. This short book helps the reader realize why things have or have not been so smooth in their transition from unbeliever to believer. It will wake you up! When God opens doors we're supposed to walk through them; walk through this book and you'll never regret that you were reading instead of mowing the lawn or checking your email. God bless!

Primary Care of the Child with a Chronic Condition
Published in Hardcover by Mosby (15 January, 2000)
Authors: Patricia Ludder Jackson and Judith A. Vessey
Average review score:

Excellent resource for neonatal and pediatric nNPs
I've used this book in my graduate level advanced practice nursing course "Primary Care of the High Risk Newborn." It combines what students need to know about the conditions they will see in practices that include children with chronic conditions. It is practicel yet contains enough theory to justify its use at the graduate level.

The Production of Grapes & Wine in Cool Climates
Published in Paperback by Wine Appreciation Guild (February, 1998)
Authors: David Jackson and Danny Schuster
Average review score:

A gem for the new grapegrower
As a complete beginner to viticulture I have found this book absolutely invaluable. It covers all aspects of cool-climate grapegrowing in a readable and accessible manner, with clear text and diagrams concerning site and variety selection, planting, establishment, pruning and training, pests and diseases, and winemaking. The section on grape varieties has excellent photographs, and a superb introduction gives an overview of the cooler grape-producing regions of the world. Written in New Zealand, this is however a "must" for all new grapegrowers, no matter where the "terroir". My copy is starting to show signs of over-use!

Putting It All Together: World Conquest, Global Genocide &
Published in Paperback by United Brothers & Sisters Communications Systems (01 August, 1994)
Author: Terrance Jackson
Average review score:

A Very Interesting Read!
"Putting It All Together" was very popular in the Black community when it was initially published. Some might remember the author's televised interview on "The Tony Brown Show" in the early 1990's. In this book Terrance Jackson deals with numerous covert organizations and conspiracies in an effort to bring light to very shadowy subjects. In this vein he also provides information on the FBI's counterintelligence program (COINTELPRO), which was used against the African-American community in general; and in particular used to brutally destroy the Black Panther Party. This book covers many subjects, all of which make this a gripping read. Add this book to your personal library today!

The Queen's Smuggler (Trailblazer Books)
Published in Paperback by Bethany House (August, 1991)
Authors: Dave Jackson, Neta Jackson, and Julian Jackson
Average review score:

A gripping tale of courage and faith!
I love this book! I have read it at least three times. In the early 1500s, Sarah Poyntz, the daughter of a merchant in Antwerp, Belgium, is caught up in the life of William Tyndale. Because of his work in translating the Bible into English, he is a wanted man. Although it puts them in deadly peril, Sarah's family shelters him from his enemies. Sarah Poyntz, the heroine of the book, risks her life to take an English Bible to the court of Henry VIII. Although the king is hostile to letting the Bible be printed in English, eventually he relents. This book is excellent story of a young girl's courage, and it is based on truth as well.

Quest for the Lost Prince (Trailblazer Books)

Average review score:

scary and exciting....
My son loves these books! They are so exciting he can't put them down, and reads them over a span of just a couple of days. He says that this particular book was one of the very best of all the Trailblazers. In his own words..."I liked this book because of the adventure throughout, starting right on the first page. It was kind of scary because of the adventures of the main character, who is an African native boy of fourteen. At the beginning, he retells the story of what happened in his life since the age of seven. That got me really excited about finishing the story.Throughout the whole book, the main character goes through several changes in his life, and in the end it turned out great." My son would love to tell you the whole story, but he wouldn't want to spoil it ....every boy should read this book!
